3/15/2010

Today went well! I biked to the track and did the dynamic warm up with my HS Team. After sending most members out for a 40-50 min run I ran alongside the girl with a cracked tail bone, on the turf, at a good pace, for 35 min. slight tinge in Piriformis, but no real pain. I did planks and a ab routine. I did my PT exercises; 3 sets of 25-30. It was a warm day.
My hydration was not very good. :( really Yellow. I am drinking as I write this. :)

I had a few bites of a protein bar after my run, and before leaving the track. It was a lite workout, but I am trying to build my butt and ab muscles, so I figured I'd better fuel them.

I have practice tonight but wont be able to make it. I am unloading a kiln right after my HS practice all the way out in Gresham. Soon this overlap will not be an issue.

Day one, done. 21 to go. (Someone told me at some point it takes 22 days to form a habit, so far for me that has proven to be true).

Happy Running!

Link to remember, Moment to remember

This is a training speeds link to remember. It is helpful for the training of tother athletes as well.

This is a more simplified version w/o the annoying music :)

This is a photo of me with the 6k conference trophy. I worked very very hard for this moment, and I can do it again. Through coaching I would also like to help other students see how hard work can really pay off.

Runners Log

So I have been fighting a pesky piriformis and wondering if I can ever really get back to racing. I keep making goals and commitments and finding myself falling off the back of the hayride. Boom! Realization: You are an adult, and only you can get yourself out of this rut. I have the tools for success; lucky girl. I am making this blog as a record of my work toward success. Part of goal setting is accountability. Letting others know about your goals. So this record will be doing double duty: Let the world know my goals, and let me record my progress.

Me: I am a Oregonian, born and raised in MN. Natural Athlete. 13yrs of soccer, 6 years of Wrestling ending as 5th in the nation 2 years running, Collegiate D3 runner. conference champ in the 800m, 1500m, and 6k. I am now training for 1500/800 and coaching at the high school level. I am 25.

I am also a Potter, and a hobby cook. Since proper training is part food I will include some record of diet as well as other relevant things.

I will attempt to record daily:
-Warm up, workout, cool down, strength exercises.
-Recharge meal (w/in 60 min of hard workout)
-Muscle recovery (Roller/ice/massage)
-Hydration (pee color and workout dizziness)
-Sleep
-PT exercises

Here goes!
